First off, get the materials you will need. (Look at Materials on this site for Wood Boards.) After you get them we can start working.
1st- Trace the design of a board you want to have or use(use a friends board or one of your own). Cut this boards out very carefully. The edges will most likely be rough but that's why you have sandpaper.
2nd- Use the low grit sandpaper(the roughest) to do the first sanding of the board. You must sand the WHOLE board and get it nice and smooth, unless you like the idea of having splinters in your foot. Now you must use a little higher grit sandpaper and sand the whole thing again. (This is the longest part of making a wood board.)
3rd- Now it's time to add some rocker to the board. There are a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest is to soak the board in water for about 2 days. This will make the board nice a flexable. Now, you'll have to be creative. You will have to use weights(books, wood, boxes w/ stuff in them, etc.) and bend the nose so it will have a slight curve upward when you lay it down w/ the top of the board facing up. The way I bend the board is to put it on this 1' wide piece of wood(with the bottom facing up) and adding weights to both side of the board so the weights will balance the board perfectly. Once you do this, let it dry for about a week (5-9 days).
Note: You must add the weights emediantly after you remove the wood from the water.
4th- After the board has dried and has some rocker, you need to seal it. Go to wal-mart and buy some wood sealer(thats where I buy mine). Put on 2 coats. Then, if you want to, you can paint the board. Use a light-weight paint that is somewhat water-resistant. After you paint the board seal it again.
